Do you ever wonder why you feel so great after staying at a really nice hotel or inn? Maybe it’s because you don’t have the day-to-day distractions waking you up in the middle of the night; you just sleep better! While we can’t promise that your kids, spouse, pets, alarms, etc. aren’t going to wake you up, we can assure you that once you start sleeping on one of our mattresses, you will sleep much better and wake up feeling more rested and refreshed.

Founded 10 years ago, Mattress Concierge selected The Standard Mattress Company/Gold Bond in Hartford, Connecticut as our exclusive manufacturing partner. A fourth-generation family-run business since 1899, Gold Bond handcrafts all Mattress Concierge mattresses to our exacting specifications.
The team at the factory has an average tenure of 12 years, crafting mattresses by hand. Our competitors have removed these processes and materials over time as they focus on mass production, profitability, and their bottom line. Unlike our competitors, we do not robotically mass manufacture; our mattresses are handcrafted upon a client’s request. There are no warehouses full of mattresses that all look and feel the same, waiting for home delivery or inventory in retail stores. We can craft the highest quality mattresses while keeping costs down; we do not have to inflate our pricing to cover the overhead of warehouse space or brick & mortar retail and the sales staff therein.

Robert (Rob) Richards
Managing Director
Rob joined Mattress Concierge in 2017 and acquired the company from the founder in 2020. After graduating from Dickinson College in 1995, Rob spent more than 20 years in the reinsurance and managed care industries, working with clients in the start-up stage to the most established and complex industry leaders.
His vocation required constant travel. Nearly 20 days per month, Rob checked into every type of hotel across the country, encountering widely varying sleep experiences. He came to understand that being well-rested is essential for success in both business and personal life. When Rob had the opportunity to stay at properties who invested in quality mattresses, he slept better.
He transitioned to Mattress Concierge to work with properties striving to differentiate themselves from the standard box hotel, who all use the same mass-produced mattresses. His motto is, “you can’t refund sleep.” Luxury properties and their guests demand an exceptional sleep experience, all of which begin with the mattress. And sleep quality and comfort is critical to the overall guest experience.
Rob brings to Mattress Concierge the ability to ensure clients will have a successful partnership and benefit from Rob’s passionate attention to detail and ambitious attitude. One key differentiator about Rob personally, and Mattress Concierge as a partner, is that he is fully invested in each client. He learns about his client’s mission and what makes them stand out in a crowded field. He is known for his longstanding client relationships, based on trust and commitment to the shared goal of guest well-being.
